Attend a Meeting

Central Committee meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6pm. We currently meet at Pony Village Mall (Room 148 across from Ross). Meeting agendas are sent prior to the meeting - contact us to get on our email distribution list. All are welcome!

Become a Precinct Committee Person

Becoming a Precinct Committee Person is a great way to get involved. Precinct Committee Persons represent their local Democratic community in the development of Coos County Democrats policies, beliefs, and standards. They also vote at Central Committee meetings, where Coos County Democrats rules and resolutions are adopted. Read more about becoming a Precinct Committee Person here.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization, and we need your support now more than ever! Opportunities include manning the Coos County Democrats booth at local fairs and events, writing blog posts for our web site or letters to the editor, helping with fundraising, coordinating speaker events and group volunteer days, election canvassing and phone banking, volunteering at our election headquarters, and much more! Contact us to find out more.

Keeping - and winning - blue seats in 2020 will take financial support. Donate to the Coos County Democrats here or by mailing a check* to the Coos County Democrats, PO Box 417, Coos Bay, OR 97420.

* If you mail a check, please include a note with your occupation, employer, and employer's address. (If you are retired, not employed, or self-employed, please indicate that on your note. If you are self-employed, please use your home address.) Campaign finance law requires us to collect this information. Thank you!

Register to Vote / Update Your Voter Registration

New to Coos County? Register to vote here.

Check the status of your voter registration here

The Oregon Motor Voter Act helped to automate voter registration, but it requires an additional step to register as a Democrat and many people don’t take that extra step. Be sure to check the status of your registration using the link above to make sure you’re eligible to vote in all elections.

Just turned 16 years old? Pre-register to vote, and you'll receive a ballot in the first election after you turn 18 years old. It couldn't be easier!

Run for Office

The Coos County Democrats Bench Committee combs Coos County for skilled, intelligent, accomplished, community-minded Democrats with a strong sense of civic duty to recruit, train, and support as candidates for elected office. We want to start local (water board, budget committees, school board, city council) and dream big (state representative, state senate, Congress!).

It's important work. This is how we plant seeds for a better future. If anyone ever told you, "You should run for office," contact us. If you know people who would make GREAT candidates one day -- contact us. Better yet, roll up your sleeves and join the committee. We need YOU!
