What is a Precinct Committee Person?

A Precinct Committee Person (PCP) is a voting member of the Coos County Democratic Party and helps shape the direction of our local party. PCPs vote on party priorities, resolutions, leadership, endorsements, and other important decisions. They can serve on committees, help develop local strategies, and have a direct voice in how the party represents Democrats in Coos County.

Becoming a PCP is one of the best ways to move from simply supporting the Democratic Party to having a real say in what it does. Whether you're a seasoned activist or just getting started in politics, as a PCP, you'll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, mobilize your community, and influence important decisions at the grassroots level.

Eligibility: current, active voter registration in Coos County AND registered as a Democrat for at least 180 days.

What does a Precinct Committee Person do?

Vote on Party Matters: PCP’s get to vote on important party business like supporting resolutions, endorsements, local party leadership, allocating funding, and being involved in the decision making process on major projects

Organizing: Attend local Democratic Party meetings and events and organize Democrats in your area.
